Karen Karmandarian

Karen is a founding partner of Thematics Asset Management and is the Co-Manager of the AI & Robotics fund. Karen (a French citizen) has 24 years of Finance industry experience : he began his investment career in 1994 with Société Générale as a Bank analyst. In 1996 he joined the Aurel-Leven brokerage firm to set up and lead the Credit and Research department and in 1999 moved to the ‘buy side’ in a similar role with Ixis Asset Management in Paris, where he spent five years. He subsequently joined Pictet Asset Management in 2004 based in Geneva, where he spent 14 years, managing first the High Yield Credit Fund before becoming a Senior Equity Portfolio Manager in the Thematic Equities Team in 2007. He initially co-managed the High Income Infrastructure strategies before setting up and launching the Pictet Robotics Fund in 2015.. Karen then moved to the latest project within Pictet Thematics, the Global Thematic Opportunities Fund, a ‘best ideas’ portfolio which leverages the knowledge of each and every Thematic strategy.

Karen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Banking & Finance from the Sorbonne University, as well as a business degree from the Institut d’Études Politiques (Paris).

Simon Gottelier

Simon Gottelier

With 20 years of industry experience, Simon is the Co-Manager of the Thematics Asset Management Water Fund. He is also a founder and owner of Thematics Asset Management. Prior to establishing the Company, he was the Co-lead manager of Pictet Asset Management’s Eur5bn Water Fund. He joined Pictet in January 2016.

Before joining Pictet, Simon worked in London and New York for the specialist Environmental Investment Company Impax Asset Management, where he gained in excess of 12 years of experience managing the Impax Water strategy, the BNP Paribas Investment Partners ‘Aqua Fund’ and a range of broader Environmental and Thematic equity products. Simon managed assets for UK (Skandia Ethical Fund), European Institutional (Parvest Global Environment, BNP Aqua), Japanese (DIAM, Daiwa) and US clients in the Private Bank (JP Morgan), Endowment and Foundation (Harvard Endowment), Retail and Wholesale markets. In addition, Simon managed segregated accounts, a US 40-Act Mutual Fund (Pax World Global Environmental Markets Fund) and a US Water allocation within a Private bank multi-manager strategy.

Simon began his career as an Investment Banker at Rothschild and Deutsche Bank in London, before gaining experience of the UK Regulated Water markets at Veolia Water UK.

Simon holds a BA in Modern Languages from the University of Bristol.

Arnaud Bisschop

Arnaud Bisschop

Arnaud is the Co-Manager of the Thematics Asset Management Water Fund and is a founder and owner of Thematics Asset Management. Prior to establishing the Company, he was the Co-lead manager of Pictet Asset Management’s Water Fund. He joined Pictet in November 2007.

Arnaud has a strong track record of outperforming benchmarks and peers, as well as for raising assets, having contributed to the winning of several Institutional and Sovereign mandates such as Government Pension Funds (Denmark, Japan, Taiwan) and a Sovereign Fund (undislosed) with his former employer.

Arnaud began his career as a consultant in Ernst&Young Sustainability practice in Paris, before gaining experience of French Water utilities at Suez. Arnaud holds MSc in Engineering and Economics from Ecole Polytechnique (X-96) and Ecole Nationale du Genie Rural, des Eaux et des Forets (ENGREF-01).

Frédéric Dupraz, CFA, FRM

Frédéric Dupraz, CFA, FRM

Frédéric is the Co-Manager of the Thematics Asset Management Safety Fund and is a founder and owner of Thematics Asset Management.

Prior to establishing the Company, he was the co-manager of the Pictet Security, a long-only global thematic equities strategy.

He joined Pictet Asset Management in 2004 where he was a product manager. Before joining Pictet, Frédéric was a consultant in the Financial Services industry with PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM. He started his career as a research assistant working on energy problems at the University of Geneva.

Frédéric holds a Master degree in Econometrics from the University of Geneva, as well as a BA in Engineering from the HES Geneva. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) of the Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Nolan Hoffmeyer, CFA

Nolan Hoffmeyer, CFA

Nolan Hoffmeyer is the Co-Manager of the Thematics Asset Management AI & Robotics fund. He is also a founder and owner of Thematics Asset Management. Prior to establishing the Company, he was the Co-manager of Pictet Asset Management’s Digital Fund. He joined Pictet in March 2012.

In 2017, Nolan is recognized as one of the rising stars in the “Managers to Watch” series by Investment Week, an industry publication.

Nolan graduated with a degree of Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen and holds a Master in Financial Engineering from the University of Lausanne. He is a CFA charterholder.

Mohammed Amor

Mohammed Amor

Mohammed Amor is one of the founders and CEO of Thematics Asset Management. He will be the Managing Partner & Head of development of Thematics Asset Management. Mohammed has 9 years of experience. He began his career in 2010 as a Sales Representative at Derivatives Capital, a brokerage firm specialized in structured products. He joined Turgot Asset Management in 2013, as Head of retail. In 2014, he joined Pictet Asset Management, where he covered retail, banks and networks in France.

Mohammed holds a Master degree from Ecole de Management de Grenoble.
